What are Styles?

If you are formatting your type by highlighting it, selecting the font, size, face, leading, tracking, scale, etc...you work too hard.
Then when you're done with your project, your customer says they want a different font and color, so you try Find Font or Find/Change
to make the changes, but it still takes some work and time to get it right. Since the beginning of time we've had Styles, but there are still people who don't use them. Either they don't know about them or they think it's too much work or they are paid by the hour. Regardless of the excuse, your time can be better spent on other things. Use InDesign's Paragraph and Character Styles to A) Format type quicker B) Have consistency throughout the document and C) Make global changes quickly. If you're not using Styles, this movie is a must-see. Visit www.RussellViers.com for more training videos. |
