InDesign CS3: Customizing Menus

Rufus Deuchler introduces this new feature in CS3... the ability to customize menu items by hiding, showing or even changing color. Oh, sure, you're thinking "hey what's new about that... we had that in Photoshop CS2." You're right, but it's new to InDesign.

It's great for helping new employees find their way...just highlight the tools you use the most and it will be easier for them to find their way through the maze of options. And for those of you who like a simple, clean workspace you can eliminate menu items you may never use. Reduce the clutter, that's right, and just show what you need to see.

In theory, you could reduce the menus to only those you use and save that workspace. If you ever need all the menus back, just change the workspace back to the default workspace and you're firing on all cylinders again.

Handy.
